Made for the exhibition Bodily Landscape, Gallery Noord Groningen 2022. This three piece series is about the Wadden Sea in the north of the Netherlands. The muted pallet that is normally associated with the natural landscape in the north of the Netherlands cannot be further from the truth, because if you choose to zoom in and really look, you will discover an explosion of colour and life.

Made in collaboration with artist Femke Elise Burke.

First in the series is the smallest piece. This one plays with the colours of dark storm clouds, wet grasslands, and a rising sunset.

Felted wool, cotton, linen, and marker.

This piece is inspired by the colours and textures you leave behind when you step in the mud. The surprising explosion of yellow en pink in the dark soil and the creatures that live underneath our feet.

Felted wool, cotton, linen, and marker.

The final and largest piece in the series is inspired by the blue skies and swirling clouds that reflect on the waters surface. In the illustrations you can find images of schools of fishes or other moving organisms.
